Research Group Aquatic Biofloc from Faculty of fishery and marine science Brawijaya University is held first national seminar with main theme “perpetual aquaculture and fisheries for national food security and income generating”. The whole activity held at Tuesday, October 11 2016 in A Building, Floor II and VI, FPIK Brawijaya University, Veteran street 65145 . This seminar invites 4 key-note speakers, from The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP) Jepara, and PT. Central Proteina Prima (CPP) Surabaya.

Peter J. Mous (TNC) starts key-note speech in fisheries specialization with presentation topic: Deep Water Snapper Fisheries of Eastern Indonesia. Second presentation, Risal Pramana (TNC) continues presentation into technical area with topic: Data Collection Tools and Trace ability for Deep Water Snapper Fisheries. Interest thing from discussion in this seminar is the connection between deep sea grouper-snapper with reef as nature source supporter. In second panel, Supito researcher from BBAP Jepara serve  topic of Heterotrof semi water processing in Vanname shrimp culture. Next, Nonot Tri Waluyo (CPP) as speakers, serves topic about  potential and prospect of fish culture. Second discussion panel becomes more interesting because the innovation of fish culture using biofloc system plus Village and house production for Vannamei shrimp initiation.

After break, 20 seminar’s members divide in two rooms. 10 speakers in Aquaculture study and 10 others in fisheries culture. Amount of members who come in key-note speech is 140. They come from different background studies, like college students, bachelor, master degree, doctor, FPIK lecture and speakers from 15 different institute. Here the list:

This seminar gives chance to all members from different background to share knowledge about research, technology, and best practice in fish culture. This chance has been used to built communication network between students, college researcher and expert in field.
